David began his career in 1998 after graduating from Columbia University (B.A. English) when he started PopWall.com, an e-commerce site which sold dorm room products such as bean bags, posters and inflatable furniture to college students. Popwall.com was named by Businessweek as one of the Top 5 gift sites on the web in 1999. In addition to e-commerce, the site collected data analytics on credit card and discretional income spending in the 18 to 24-year old demographic. In 2000, David served as Director of Internet Strategies for Ducati Motorcycles. David was a key driver in establishing Ducati as the pre-eminent online motorcycle brand.
Beginning with the sale of the first motorcycle on the web, Ducati.com generated $70MM in revenue during David’s 2-year tenure and was the 7th highest grossing E-commerce site in Europe during the same period. Ducati.com featured a social network for Ducati owners, where enthusiasts could build profiles, network and connect. David also served as Director of Business Development for Broadband National, an Internet Service aggregation platform which generated high volumes of geographically targeted broadband leads from organic unpaid search results.
David helped developed the companies big box retail program and contracted use of the company’s platform with companies such as Best Buy, CompUSA, Tiger Direct & Office Depot.
